New York City is in full Christmas over-drive. Lights are shinning bright, the stores are packed, and people are slightly happier than they were in November. (Don’t worry, everyone goes back to being miserably silent the day after New Year’s).
If you live here, you definitely know that New York City screeeeeeeeeams Christmas. During this season, the city becomes almost magical. Maybe it’s the cold, maybe it’s the lights, maybe it’s the overly spiked eggnog, or maybe it’s something else all-together. But from Lower to Upper Manhattan, NYC at this time, appears like the backdrop for a beautiful Christmas post card or like a scene handpicked from a classic holiday movie.
If you don’t live in New York City, you don’t need to go very far to experience what the city is like at Christmas. All you need is a cookie, a cup of hot chocolate, and oddly enough, Netflix.
Each of the movies below are set in New York City and capture the true essence of what this borough holds during this most festive of seasons.

3. Elf (2003)
4. Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and again in (1994)
